The origins of the Golden Hinde goes back to 1577 when Queen Elizabeth Sir Francis Drake named to the ship captain that originally was called the Pelican. After meeting Queen Elizabeth, he left in December 1577 with five other ships on a mission to the South – to sail American coast and explore the coast on the other side of the Strait of Magellan to. After the Golden Hinde on 1 March 1579 the battle against the Spanish galleon span> Nuestra Senora de la Conception span> i> won and thus made enough loot for Queen Elizabeth to repay its foreign debts, returned to London.
