Citytrip Honfleur En

Honfleur is a beautiful authentic harbor town in Normandy. Lying on the riverbed of the Seine and the Channel, it has been inhabited for centuries, including by the Romans and the Gauls. Due to its fascinating history, the fishing port is seen by many visitors as the most beautiful old port in France. Especially the slate-covered facades of the monumental buildings and the beautiful sunlight have already been able to inspire many painters. It is therefore no surprise that almost all buildings in Honfleur are on the list of cultural heritage.

There is plenty to do in Honfleur. It is wonderful to walk through the narrow streets, to stroll past countless markets and to enjoy the attractive terraces and characteristic hotels and restaurants. In addition to numerous museums, the historic boat the Sainte-Bernadette is also a highlight of Honfleur. This maritime monument is a good representation of the history of fishing. Also worth a visit is the largest wooden church in France, the Sainte-Catherine. What is special is that the clock tower is separate from the main building. Nice shops and terraces can also be found on this square. You have to experience Honfleur!
